Interested in Motorsport Medicine?
The TOCA Safety Team is inviting expressions of interest from medical students, FY1 and FY2 doctors who would like the opportunity to experience motorsport medicine first-hand during the 2027 season.
We are offering a limited number of Motorsport Medicine Taster Days at selected events during the season. Successful applicants will join us for one event, with a maximum of two participants at each event.
This is an opportunity to step behind the scenes and see how medical care is planned and delivered within a busy professional motorsport environment. You’ll be able to observe the work of the event medical and safety teams, learn more about the challenges of pre-hospital care in motorsport, and gain an insight into the different roles involved in looking after competitors, officials and teams.
These are observational taster days rather than clinical placements, and are aimed at those who are genuinely interested in finding out more about motorsport, event and pre-hospital medicine.
We expect there to be considerable interest and places are very limited, so attendance will be by application.
We would like you to tell us a little about yourself and, most importantly:
- Why would you like to attend a TOCA Safety Team Motorsport Medicine Taster Day, and what are you hoping to gain from the experience?
Clinical placements may also be available during the 2027 season for doctors at other grades. These will be subject to a separate application process, with further information to follow soon.
If motorsport medicine is something you’ve thought about, this could be your opportunity to come and see what happens on the other side of the barriers.
